About Us

Dear Daylily Friends,

Thank you for all the orders you gave us last year. The plants look great and are growing well. Every year has it’s own challenges. This year it was lack of rain. We irrigate the plants almost every day. But there is no substitute for rain. In spite of the drought the plants are looking good. Daylilies are remarkable plants.

We are so grateful for the many nice compliments you gave us last year about our plants and service. You make our business successful and we appreciate each one of you. Thank you for the notes and emails with all the kind words. We work hard in order to send you the very best plants possible. The plants are personally dug, washed, and inspected by us. However if for some reason there is a problem, please let us know so we can correct the situation.

Ridaught Daylily Farm is a commercial daylily operation that features an AHS Display Garden and commercial growing areas. More than 1200 varieties of daylilies are grown on the farm. The display garden has old garden roses as well as hybrid teas and climbers. Visitors can stroll through paths bordered by clumps of daylilies and masses of Shasta daises, hydrangeas, larkspur, coreopsis, and cleome. Many other garden plants add to the colorful display. There are water features on the property as well.

The display garden, commercial growing field and our home are located on five acres of rich, North Florida land. Visitors from garden clubs, daylily societies, and bus tours are welcomed into our garden each year.

We are active in Suwannee Valley Hemerocallis Society, which meets in Lake City. We are also active in Region 12 and American Hemerocallis Society (AHS). We love flowers especially daylilies. If you want to learn more about daylilies join a local daylily club and become a member of the American Hemerocallis Society. The clubs have excellent programs and members are very helpful with your questions. AHS publishes four journals each year that are full of good stuff. Visit the AHS web site for more information.

Daylily rust is under control in our garden. Spraying is done on a weekly basis alternating with five different fungicides. Both a systemic and a contact fungicide are needed to keep the plants healthy. The fungicides are alternated each week using one systemic fungicide and one contact fungicide. The systemic fungicides currently being used are Bayleton, Heritage and Banner Maxx. The contact fungicides are daconil and dithane. Changes to our spray program will be posted on the web site. We will not ship any plants that show symptoms of rust or have had rust in the recent past. Every precaution is taken in order to send disease free plants. Ridaught Daylily Farm, Inc. cannot guarantee against daylily rust because it is air borne and can be introduced not only by the new plants that you bring into your garden but also in many other ways.

The web catalog is filled with color pictures, however the printed version does not have pictures. We post sold out’s, new cultivars and pricing specials on the web as they occur. The web site contains the most up to date information about availability. There are some short supply varieties listed on the web catalog that are not included in the printed catalog. Orders can be placed via the web site as well. E-mail is wonderful. We can respond to you quickly for confirmations and changes, so be sure to include your e-mail address if available.

Come visit us. Peak bloom season is mid May with bloom from April until September. A call may be in order to make sure we are in the garden.

Happy Gardening!
